Setting Up Additional Numbers

Once you have selected to add an additional number onto your account for $2/month (See: Billing for Additional Numbers) you can now set up a local number by accessing your web portal and clicking on the Numbers tab on the left.
Under this you can now select to Add Local Number or Port Local Phone Number. Instead of replacing your first number your new or ported number will occupy the second slot.

How does a second number work?

You can use a second number as a dedicated digital faxing line (See: Setting up Inbound Fax) or another number for others to reach you at. At this time numbers cannot be associated with specific devices but will ring all of your account's connected devices at the same time. 

Vestalink accounts are limited to two active lines at once. This means that multiple devices can be on two separate calls at once, either inbound or outbound.
