Configuring Your Caller ID (CNAM)

Vestalink allows you to define what you want included in the text portion of your Outbound Caller ID, or CNAM. To configure your CNAM log into your web portal using your Vestalink credentials. Then click on Manage Numbers, which will appear in the drop down menu under the Numbers tab on the left.
Now that you have accessed your Manage Numbers menu you will see your telephone number on a line like this:


The Caller ID tab, as you can see, is currently blank. This field is for the text portion of Caller ID. By default your Caller ID will be your number and either
Vestalink Caller or your city and state. To update our Caller ID, click on Edit on the right of the number line.
You will now be able to type what you want in the Caller ID tab. 
The Caller ID field will only accept Alphanumeric characters and is limited to 15 characters. Once you are satisfied with your outbound Caller ID click Save on the right to apply your new settings.
Your new Outbound Caller ID is now set up. It can take a few days for it to update with other phone carriers. You can change it at any time in the future. Also note that outbound CNAM will not transmit if you are Spoofing your Caller ID as a different number.
